Newark from Oatfield Lane

February 14, 2009

Radcliff-on-Trent.

Looking north to Newark from Oatfield Lane junction above Shelford, red cliffs twenty miles apart. A Pangaea-like hominoid empty primeval ice age view of the Trent river gorge. Ice and ice melting, images of vast volumes of icy water blocked and redirected by glaciers, linked to the present by occultist and völkisch runes. Set in this once undersea world is Tollerton airfield from where spirits fly off from beautiful rural Nottinghamshire, albeit symbolically, in to the afterlife.
