Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.

Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.

The landscape of former coalfields turns quickly to rural villages. Overlaid by motorways, the brutality of heavy lorries and noise is demonic. It is easy to become disorientated. Service town Kegworth is only a few miles from Hemington:Shepherd whistles flock under fields, hills and woodlands. In the shadow of Radcliffe-on-Sour power station is a new commuter railway station. Flanked by rivers access is only by car with no paths over the river. Where the Sour meets the Trent is the greatest view in industrial England.
