The Black Country

The Black Country

From London Euston railway station journey to Birmingham. Book cycles ahead especially on Virgin Trains and X-Country Trains. Oddly Birmingham is not great for accommodation but ask at the Tourist Board Bull Ring up from Birmingham New Street. Visit the market sea food stall and listen to the local patoir. Not everyone has a interest in the banal but travel from Snow Hill to Wolverhampton by tram to see how industrial cities look now. Wolverhampton has little accommodation except an old fashioned dark hotel in the centre. Most seek the pictuesque which can be found by leaving Wolverhampton via the canal system. The ride back to Birmingham on the canal is 15 miles. The Industrial Revolution started in The Black Country.
