Welwyn Garden City

Cycling through Letchworth, Hertfordshire via the World’s First Roundabout c1909.
Due to very heavy traffic (England’s Crowded Island is also the most Crowded with Cars) and Highway Engineers with only the automoblile in mind have designed roundabouts which they never tested and even drivers fear them. Harald Schumacher, ‘Small is Beautiful’ was not read by Swindon Highways Department when they designed the ‘Magic Rondabout’.

Most English Towns and Cities Artery Systems ignored the cyclists.

The worst case is narrow laned before and after the Fire of London London where Journey to Work (or to the shops) may/often involves going up One Way Streets The Wrong Way.
