Market Rasen

April 15, 2009

Touring via racecourses is likely to bring you to remote locations with little or no accommodation. The parallel economy of racing does not involve the nation, only in gambling in urban betting shops or bookmakers. An elite of businessmen go to the races. Most racecources are in remote country spots like Market Rasen, Utoxetter, Faversham, Hexham, Lingfield, Southwell, Newbury and Newmarket, but some are near or in cities like Chester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Wolverhampton. The draw of these places is that they are unusual and may stimulate an idea to cycle off in another direction. Many racecourses are near railway stations in low lying flat areas.
