Geographically, cycling is split in two. Cycling in the Flat World or on Business Cycles. At a more earthly level cycling needs a track. Cycling in Corsica is very, very steep but cycling across the fragrant gorse would be near impossible. Cycling on the Silk Road means carrying a bicycle through jungle roads more like the Hadrian’s Wall. Cycling up the Pass Stelvio affords a view of Bernese Oberland loops relentlessly upwards. So be prepared for a steep but spiritual journey to reach the glacier.
